In Sept. 2023 I did another GAdventures tour along the northern coast of Sicily. Followed by a conference and workshop near Palermo. Food was great, weather was hot (36C some days), volcanoes were impressive and the islands were lovely.

 A couple of days in Palermo to jet unlag and meet the group (of 15) and the guide.

Then a day in Cefalu and on to Lipari on the Aeolian Islands. Spent my birthday there and was surprised at supper time that the guide had arranged a celebration for me.

Nice towns on the islands. We made a few small trips to local spots. Some swimming -- got stung by a jellyfish! On my birthday!

Did a night cruise around Stromboli which put on a nice show for us.

A quick visit to Taormina and then a couple of days in Catania which included visiting Mt. Etna and a honeyfarm.

On the last day a few of us went for a swim at the Catania beach where I did get a bit sunburnt.

Conference: The annual Graph Drawing conference was in a resort near Palermo and was followed by a special workshop in honour of my long time Italian host. It was great to get together with colleagues and friends and see what's going on in that academic world.
